Netflix Review

Netflix! When you want to see a great show, go to Netflix. When you want something independent, not too formatted, run Netflix. When you want to save on watching movies, here is Netflix. It’s the greatest online streaming service for videos and shows here for you. If you want to know more about the features of this app, continue reading this Netflix review.

Design and Usability 9/10

Most video streaming services today look like videotape or DVD stores. Movies and shows are sorted by genres and positioned on virtual shelves. You can scroll through them to select something you hope you’ll like, or search for certain titles. Tap the cover to see information like cast, release date, genre, a brief review, a trailer, and more about any movie or show.

The library on Netflix is ginormous. There are hundreds of thousand videos, and they are still being added. In addition to distributing products by third-party studios, Netflix also produces its own films and shows in various countries. The most famous movies by Netflix are The Irishman by Scorses. The shows include Stranger Things, 13 Reasons Why, House of Cards, and many, many more. There is always something to watch, no matter if you want a romantic story, a comedy, detective, action, or sci-fi.

Key Functions 10/10

There are two visible features in the Netflix app: the virtual video library and the player. Both are easy and functional. Select the show on the virtual shelf, start it right on, or mark it to watch later. The player is simple in terms of control and not too annoying, letting you focus on the video.

Behind these features, though, powerful engines are working to process your requests, detect your tastes, compare them to other people’s choices, and generate the best suggestions for you. Netflix tracks the videos you watch and rate. And that’s okay because finally it results in better series it makes. You may, though, dislike this approach, saying that it substitutes inspiration with calculation. But showbiz is about combining both, and Netflix is good at it.

Security & App Purchases 9/10

What you can purchase in the app is a selection of monthly plans. The cheapest plan ($7.99) only supports SD video on one device at a time. If you pay $9.99, you can watch videos in up to 1080p on 2 devices. The most expensive option at $11.99 delivers 4K+HDR video streaming on up to 4 devices. It’s the perfect option for a family or for a friends’ party.

As for security, it’s all about your password and your attitude. Choose a strong password. Don’t be afraid to forget it: there is a recovery option. Your stats are collected, of course, but they are only openly used by Netflix itself to offer you the best you-may-also-like videos.

Conclusion

Though Netflix doesn’t deliver exclusive shows from other streaming services, like Disney or Apple, it delivers enough to be fun. Its feature films are mostly of lower quality than expected, but seasons are often great. Anyway, you just won’t have enough time to watch all of its content, so make your choice on whether to download Netflix on your phone.

Cons:

  • Poor quality on the basic plan
  • Other channels’ exclusives never get here

Pros:

  • Lots of movies and shows to watch
  • Various plans to select from
  • Great built-in player with caching
  • Available on other devices as well
  • Free trial for 1 month for new users
